We all had a hunch that Mattie was going to serve a mission, but the question I kept asking myself was, "How is my beautiful, bright, baby sister going to make it to 21 before someone snatches her up?" I guess the Lord works in mysterious ways and must have realized this as well. When the age change was announced Megan, Mattie, and I just started BAWLING because we knew this was EXACTLY how she was going to serve a mission before she got snatched up. This blog is dedicated to her and her service in the Dominican Republic as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
"I will go I will do the things the Lord commands, I know the Lord provides a way He wants me to obey"
Needless to say Mattie got to work and started preparing her papers to serve. On February 1st of 2013 she got her mission call:

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 18 months. You will report to the Dominican Republic Missionary Training Center on Thursday, June 20, 2013. You will prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish language.
